Meaning behind the name:
Athena is an important Greek goddess. She is the patron goddess of the city-state of Athens, the goddess of wisdom, a goddess of arts and crafts (agriculture, navigation, spinning, weaving, and needlework), the favorite daughter of her father Zeus, and, as a war goddess with a focus on strategy more than bloodshed, an active participant in the Trojan War.
Athena is our pride and joy. She was bred by us, The Grand Central Asians. She is from the first litter called Litter A: Ancient Gods. That litter is very special to us for a number of reasons which include being bred in Poland. To our knowledge no breeder of Central Asian Shepherd Dogs in the USA has done it before us.
Athena is a confident female. She is sporting a big bark when she is noticing something unusual or threatening. She behaves like a dream in public situations but do not be fooled, she is still watching the surroundings and analyzing the situations. She is doing great with our goats. She is kind and bonded with all our dogs. Athena is pack member. She has a great relationship with her dam.
She is very nice in terms of structure. Her greatest strengths are her balanced structure and athleticism. She is strong and muscular with a big bone. She has a nice wide chest that complements strong rear. She has very good angulation for the breed. Athena has a beautiful, classic CAS head and a distinguished demeanor. We are hopeful that her angulation, temperament and classic CAS head will contribute to the betterment of the breed in the USA. She has been thoroughly health tested which you can review on the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals website.
